Inside the Murrayfield suite at Norton House, the make-up was well and truly being applied. Julie and her bridesmaids were doing battle, brushes flying all over the place. I found myself shooting through a mangle of arms as I settled in the room. The atmosphere was relaxed but you could sense the tension hanging in the air. As it happens, I knew the groom personally so was looking forward to catching up with him. But, not before snapping some candid coverage of the girls getting ready. I should add they looked lovely.
The girls were soon getting dressed upstairs with some impressive teamwork. It looked like a lot of fuss in the name of love, but getting married is surely worthy of such preparation. With half and hour to go, I was off to meet the boys and greeted Ross with a cheesy grin. His face was wearing similar and he looked to be on form. A shot of the best man with the rings was interrupted only by the constant hustle and bustle of the arrivals. After introducing myself to the registrar, we were all set to fetch the bride.
The girls were waiting patiently in the room, where I caught them entertaining themselves with a packet of haribo. I love sweet scenes and grinned with delight. The delay was nerve racking so I distracted Julie with some adhoc shots in the corridor. She looked happy to oblige. Eventually we were off and we made our way accross to the anex where everyone was seated. Julie burst into the room accompanied by her father and they walked arm in arm down the aisle towards the waiting Ross. A short ceremony saw them married and they kissed to a round of applause.
