All Dolled Up

The first thing I noticed after greeting Susan's family was the lookalike dolls. They had been presented as a personal gift and stood next to the fireplace as the bridal preparations got underway. These might be useful stunt doubles I thought, so decided to suggest they came along to the wedding. I got the impression that the idea was already in Susan's head as her mum introduced me to them. The mood was certainly relaxed inside the house in East Kilbride and it wasn't long before I got busy shooting whilst tucking into a roll and sausage. I was keen to keep my eye on them as they got all dolled up.

The make-up was being applied next to a big window, and as the sun broke through it created some useful light to work with. The banter was good humored too, making it relatively easy to catch people unaware. As the hairspray settled I was sensing it was time to make a move into Glasgow to meet John and the boys at the Barony Hall. A quick shot of the family together signalled my departure and I wished them good luck before rushing back to the bridemobile. I wondered if the dolls would be making the journey too.

Inside the hall, I greeted the boys and soon I bumped into the toastmaster. His striking red coat graced the entrance as he welcomed guests inside with genuine warmth. I was already thinking of photo timings and took a quick tour of the building, looking for places to use. With the plan settled in my mind, I made my way outside to catch the bridesmaids arriving and got into position ready for Susan.
