Introduction
Stuart began taking photographs in 1992, and spent several years creating the images you see here. On route, he has been lucky enough to have work published for a variety of clients including the Scottish Tourist Board, Baxters, RBS, Your More Store, Amateur Photographer and Photo Technique magazines. In addition to that, many indirect clients have used his work through picture libraries and most of these images have recently been released after completing their retention period. For the first time in nearly 10 years, the best of these images have been collated together again and published online in this portfolio.
Being Human
Sometimes I laugh out loud at life. I don't know what else to do. I'm highly visual and creative. I appreciate beautiful things and I enjoy making something look good. I'm also committed and proud. When I put my name to something I want it to be as good as it can be. That's why I worry every time I have to do a shoot. I have to produce something special every single time and that is a simple pressure I put upon myself. I believe your only as good as your last photoshoot. I freely admit that I'm so distracted by making things look good that I often struggle with the technicalities of using a modern camera. Too many buttons and too many options for me. I shoot in my head and welcome the day when digital cameras are small enough to be implanted into your eye. Until that day, I will struggle on being human and create beautiful images with my mind. A camera will never be able to do that.
